Meet Our Coaches

Video Series

The Brand.

Future Fitness App is a personal trainer app that connects clients with world-class performance coaches based on their personal fitness needs. The coach then designs weekly personalized workouts to keep clients on track with their individual fitness goals.

The Initial Problem.

New Future clients select their own coach when signing up for the app. Inevitably, some coaches cultivate a lower sign-up count than others. A solution was brainstormed. The Meet Our Coaches series would bridge potential clients to coaches featured on Future’s social media accounts.

The Project.

I began by creating a script and instructional video to send to each coach apart of the series. The list included details on attire, video lighting, sound (coaches would wear AirPods a lot in videos, which actually lowered sound quality quite significantly), etc. Because I was not physically present to film, I needed a list that would maintain professionalism for each video.

The Edit.

TikTok videos are proven to perform better with a hook within the first 3 seconds of the video, and cliff hanger at the end. Creating videos with cliffhangers or catchphrases like “stay tuned for part 2” creates a reason for the viewer to stick around. So, I created a four-part series for TikTok. Below are the final four TikTok videos.

Nicole was the first coach to sign-up. She was becoming more involved with the social team and I knew she would execute the video exceptionally. She also agreed to work with me to create an instructional video to send to the other coaches. Above is a minute-and-a-half preview of the full video that she recorded and I edited.

The Learnings.

After posting the series on TikTok, I realized that Future’s account wasn’t quite built out enough for this series. With less than 500 followers, a strong following had not yet been established. I quickly realized this series would perform better with a more-established audience.

Future has quite an engaged audience on Instagram and since the app is targeted to a slightly older demographic, I adapted. I edited the four-part series into one longer-form video and it was posted as an Instagram reel. Please see the final edit below.
